where have you been DANTE

reasons for no new DMC game has been that Capcom has been aiming its sight

elsewhere and has some pretty sweet projects lined up that they are keeping quiet

about. I didn’t like the ending of the DMC 4 story as it left a lot of cliffhangers but word

has it that the next game will clear these up even if it is a complete or pseudo remake of

the game.

LIGHTS CAMERA CRAZY INSANE OVER THE TOP GUNS BLAZING DEMONS BLEEDING ACTION

capcom and Japanese movie production company Gaga Communications have announced that they are planning to make t Devil May Cry into a Hollywood. The movie is scheduled to begin filming in 2005 with a budget of $40 million. The companies are still deciding on the director, cast, and actors for the film. Gaga and Capcom hope to make the film reflect the original game, showing off the stylish Dante and Trish in action. hopefully this will eventually come out as it would make for an aboslutely awesome movie.

the show

Devil may cry is rumored to have a tv show in the works that stars the orginal dante as a half devil half human demon hunter who employs himself to take out minions of the underworld with his companion trish. no word on what network will air this yet but it seems like it should get a pretty decent one based on its fanbase.

Detailed Analysis of the DmC Debut Trailer

Devil May Cry is rumoured to be the next instalment in the DMC series (no official word on development of Devil May Cry for PSP as yet) and is also said to feature the return of Nero, Dante, Trish, Lady and, perhaps Vergil in some form or other.

The impact Dante has made on pop culture surprisingly is not that mainstream. instead the copycat of god of war

takes all the credit away from the creator of extreme gameplay genre. You see god of war taking away game of the

year titles year after year while DAnte gets stuck with the leftovers, nothing.. more poeple need to experienc t

his game because it is one of the coolest and hardest games to ever be invented and it does not get the credit it deserves

the reboot

It seems Capcom is doing the unthinkable and killing off our grey haired anti hero and replacing him with a new version of dante...a twilight inspired dante it seems. although the trailer seems cool i just cant think of goin in guns and swords blazing with any other person other than dante. The story is getting rebooted so thats a good thing but i wanted some sense of closure with the 2nd ones story where dante heads into hell at the end however we never see what happens to him after that.

Devil may cry 3

devil-may-cry-3-dantes-awakening-20050104025304927.html.jpg

Where Devil May Cry 2 failed DMC 3 succeeded and then some. Injecting some much needed life back into the franchise the game is a prequel to the first game and players control a young and energetic dante just getting a grasp on his powers for the first time. The wise cracks are back as Dante faces off against his brother Vergil in one of the hardest games of all time. The first game was very hard and the second game was fairly easy. The third game is straight up brutal. Although you are given a variety of over the top weapons to do battle with the enemies you face are just relentless and sometimes number in ten at a time. If you are lucky enough to make it to any of the bosses you are treated to some of the toughest fights in videogame history. The hardest ones coming against your own brother who fights like a mirror image of Dante. Although this game was terrific the difficulty was almost too much at times but this one is still far better than the 2nd one but not quite as good as the first

Devil may cry 2

This game was highly, highly anticipated and.....ended up being somewhat dissappointing. Dante went from a wise cracking badass to an ultra serious monotone mute just about. Now chronologically this game really takes place after the 4th game but not knowing this at the time with little explanation of the story before the game starts i was personally was left confused. Add to this an extremely lame secondary character to play as and the magic of the first game was gone. The setting moved to a city and the awesome devil powers from the first game were basically gone as you only have one power for a majority of the game. i felt like the game was a letdown as it failed to capture any part of what the first game had that made it so great. Add to this the worst final boss in the history of gaming and i was left looking for more

How it stacks up to the sequels

In my opinion the first is always the best. And its no different here. This was the first game that i played where i felt badass. Never before were you given the type of super powered character like dante was. the action was so smooth and every movement was so fluid that you really felt unstoppable. The extreme difficulty of the game brought me back down to earth a bit but didn't ruin the feel of the game at all.

Life and death in game

The game tackles death in a much harsher way than most do. You are only given one life unless you pick up one of several items which give you a second chance. If your health bar goes down to zero in the game you are asked if you want to restart at a previous checkpoint. The problem for the player is that these checkpoints are few and far between and often make you restart from halfway through the level if your reflexes aren't up to speed. The fear of having to go back far in the level adds an intense sense of urgency to every fight as each fight will test you and if you arent careful you'll be retreading levels before you know it

Cultural impact

The series has sold over ten million copies world wide, and with each release has been a platinum title. The game has also become known for starting the sub-genre of action games known as "extreme combat" which usually involves hordes of enemies going against super powered heroes with a focus on the style of your fighting. It also is credited with being a throwback to 2d action games because it required such twitch refelxes to play. It is the groundwork for the equally as popular god of war games which took the same idea. Action figures were also produced for Devil may cry.

Gameplay

The gameplay involves players in an over the top action movie of sort with a variety of guns and swords to do battle with. The game came out around the time of the matrix phenomenon and it is shown in this gameplay as the main character Dante can shoot in mid air and hold himself afloat by shooting faster. The game also offered up a brutal difficulty that harkened back to old nintendo games as there was no block button and the only thing usually keeping the player alive is quick reflexes

The birth

Devil may Cry was a project that originally started out as the sequel to the worldwide hit resident evil series. It was supposed to take the whole idea of zombies and survival horror and take it to the next level by giving the main protagonist more than just a gun to fight with. Fortunately for us CAPCOM took this idea and went in a whole new direction and created the fiercely difficult and immensely successful hit Devi May Cry
